Lemnos through centuries
The exhibition of the Historical InformationCentre at Portianou refer to all historical periods and phases of the island of Lemnos.
Starting Mythology, the multidimensional story from Antiquity to the Turkish domination, the Liberation of the island and its transformation into “head office” of warfare during the First World War (especially the Battle of Gallipoli and the presence of ANZAC in Lemnos), the visitor has the opportunity to learn the deeper history and evolution of Lemnos and the people who passed by this place.
